Rocker broke back 'finding loo'

The musician sleepwalked out of a first floor window of a villa where he was staying in the South of France.

Quinn told ITV Teletext: "The first I knew I was in trouble was when I was in mid-air."

The 38-year-old suffered two broken vertebrae in the fall, and the band were forced to put their plans on hold.

Album release

Supergrass, who had just finished recording their sixth album, were due to play a homecoming gig in Oxford the following month but it was scrapped.

Gaz Coombes, the band's frontman, and drummer Danny Goffey have recently performed a number of gigs under the name Diamond Hoo Ha Men while Quinn recovers from his injuries.

Speaking about the night of his accident, Quinn told Teletext: "I needed a pee in the middle of the night.

"I wasn't drunk, I was just so sleepy I thought I was on the ground floor. What I thought was a glass door was a window."

Supergrass rose to stardom during the Britpop era in the mid-1990s with their cheery pop hit Alright.

Their albums have included I Should Coco (1995), X-Ray Album (1999), and Road to Rouen (2005).

Their new album, titled Diamond Hoo Ha, is expected to be released in March.
