Drink-drive deal for actress Fox

Vivica A Fox US actress Vivica A Fox has pleaded no contest to drunken driving, nine months after being arrested in Los Angeles.

The Kill Bill star must serve three years probation and complete an alcohol education programme, a spokesman for the Los Angeles City attorney said.

Fox was also ordered to pay around $1,200 (£591) in fines and fees.

Under California law, a no contest plea is the legal equivalent of pleading guilty. The 43-year-old actress had pleaded not guilty in September.

Fox was stopped on 20 March in Hollywood after her car passed a patrol car at 80mph.

Reckless driving

Police said her blood-alcohol level was over the legal limit of 0.08%.

Fox's plea deal follows the no contest plea to reckless driving that actor Ray Liotta entered earlier this week.

The Goodfellas star was placed on three years' probation and ordered to enter an alcohol education programme after driving into two parked cars in February.

Fox played assassin Vernita Green in Quentin Tarantino's Kill Bill films and competed last year in Dancing with the Stars, the US version of Strictly Come Dancing.
