Frank Carter, the lead singer of punk band Gallows, is this year's coolest person in rock, according to NME.
The 23-year-old has become well-known for his wild on-stage behaviour, such as being tattooed on stage during a gig at this year's Reading Festival.
Klaxons' Jamie Reynolds was named the second coolest artist in the poll with CSS frontwoman Lovefoxx coming third.
Gossip singer Beth Ditto was top of the weekly magazine's list last year, but finished ninth in this year's survey.
Veteran rockers
The Cribs' Ryan Jarman is at number four with rapper Lethal Bizzle at five.

He is a new entry into the list after collaborating with bands such as The Rakes, Babyshambles, Gallows and the Arctic Monkeys.
Alex Turner from the Arctic Monkeys featured at number six with singer Kate Nash making her debut to the list in seventh place.
Of eighth-placed Amy Winehouse, the magazine said: "Her interesting year has been a hedonistic mix of award wins, drug overdose stories and a string of sold-out dates.
"But throughout it all the queen of cool has kept her beehive in place while the rest of us marvel and wondered what next."
Rolling Stones veteran Keith Richards, 66, rounded off the top 10.
NME editor Conor McNicholas said: "30 years after the height of punk there are a whole load of new bands making wild and passionate noise.
"But it takes more than just great music to make it to the top of the cool list. These people effortlessly set trends with every breath they take."
