Film star Michelle Yeoh is to be given France's highest civilian distinction, the Legion of Honour, French Foreign Ministry officials have said.
The Malaysian actress, 45, will receive the award at a ceremony in Kuala Lumpur on 3 October.
Best known in the West for her role in James Bond film Tomorrow Never Dies, Yeoh also starred in Ang Lee's hit Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.
Her latest film, science fiction adventure Babylon AD, is out in 2008.
Yeoh began her acting career in Chinese action films, and was a well-established actress in Asia before she became a Bond girl.
She has also starred in Memoirs of a Geisha, and is currently filming the third instalment of The Mummy film series.
