Cate Blanchett has attended the premiere of Elizabeth: The Golden Age in Toronto, hours after another role won her a best actress award in Venice.
The film, a sequel to 1998's Elizabeth, sees her reprising her Oscar-nominated role as England's "Virgin Queen".
The actress was accompanied on the red carpet in Canada by fellow Australian Geoffrey Rush and Britain's Clive Owen.
Speaking before the premiere, director Shekhar Kapur suggested a third Elizabeth film was in the pipeline.
If the first two films had been about power, he said, the third would address the subject of mortality.
"There are endless possibilities with Elizabeth," agreed Blanchett. "And I think there will be a lot more Elizabeth [films] because she's endlessly fascinating."
Blanchett's presence in Toronto meant she was unable to collect her best actress prize at the Venice Film Festival.
This award was in recognition for her impersonation of Bob Dylan in experimental biopic I'm Not There.
Mixed reviews
The 38-year-old said portraying the Elizabeth I on screen had been "incredibly inspiring".
But she would not be drawn on whether she would play the role for a third time, staying silent when Kapur broached the subject.
Critical reaction to The Golden Age has been mixed, with the Hollywood Reporter calling it "an unabashedly romantic epic [that] looks set to deliver box office gold".
Variety, however, was less effusive, saying there would be "little to recommend" without "the pleasure of watching Cate Blanchett".
The actress will be seen next year in the fourth Indiana Jones film, the full title of which has just been announced.
Actor Shia LaBeouf revealed at the MTV Video Music Awards in Las Vegas that it would be called Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.
