Lopez awarded damages against ex

Jennifer Lopez Singer Jennifer Lopez has won $545,000 (£267,257) in a case against her first husband, who planned to publish a book claiming she had several affairs.

The star claimed Ojani Noa had violated a previous legal settlement preventing him from revealing private details about their relationship.

Mr Noa, 31, has been directed to hand over all copies of materials related to the book.

Ms Lopez, 36, married Mr Noa in 1997, and they divorced 11 months later.

Breach of contract

An arbitrator also imposed permanent injunction against Mr Noa, barring from "criticising, denigrating, casting in a negative light or otherwise disparaging or causing disparagement" to Ms Lopez.

According to court papers, Mr Noa's unpublished book alleges Ms Lopez had multiple affairs, including one with her third and current husband, Marc Anthony.

The star claimed Mr Noa offered not to publish the book in return for $5 million (£2.4m).

In 2004, he sued his ex-wife for breach of contract.

He claimed she had lured him into taking a $1,000 (£491) per week managerial job at her Pasadena restaurant, firing him five months later.

Mr Noa settled the case for $125,000 (£61,468) and agreed not to disclose private information about their relationship or to disparage Ms Lopez, according to court papers.

The singer and actress's most recent case claimed Mr Noa's book plans breached that agreement.

Papers on the current case were filed on Monday and a further hearing has been scheduled for 5 September.

Since Ms Lopez's first marriage collapsed she has married twice.

Last month the star announced she planned to embark on her first concert tour, alongside third husband Anthony, whom she married in 2004.
