Ryan star Sizemore in drug arrest

Tom Sizemore Saving Private Ryan actor Tom Sizemore has been arrested outside a California hotel on suspicion of drug possession.

Police said methamphetamine was found in his car after a man believed to be an associate of Mr Sizemore's got into a dispute with a hotel clerk.

The actor is currently on probation for a previous drug conviction.

In 2006 he was spared jail after admitting using methamphetamine but was put on three years' probation. His representatives have not commented.

Suspended sentence

Officers in Bakersfield, north of Los Angeles, said they saw Mr Sizemore showing "symptoms of being under the influence".

The 45-year-old was arrested for investigation of possession of methamphetamine, being under the influence of a controlled substance and possession of narcotic paraphernalia, detectives said.

He has been on probation since October 2004, when he was given a 16-month suspended jail sentence for possessing methamphetamine.

In 2006 he admitted breaching that probation and was ordered to have weekly drug tests and attend a treatment clinic.
