Fan 'attacks Bullock's husband'

Sandra Bullock A fan of US actress Sandra Bullock has been accused of trying to run over the star's TV host husband, Jesse James.

Marcia Diana Valentine, 45, was arrested after allegedly trying to hit James when Bullock asked her to leave their Californian home on Sunday.

"She jumped in the car, put it in reverse and accelerated in his direction," said Jim Amormino, an Orange County sheriff spokesman.

Bullock's publicist, Cheryl Maisel, said the couple were "fine".

Deadly weapon

Mr Amormino added that Ms Valentine allegedly tried to hit James "three or four times".

It is not the first time Ms Valentine has turned up at the couple's home, Mr Amormino said.

Ms Valentine was arrested on Monday for assault with a deadly weapon.

She was released on $25,000 (£12,500) bail. A court hearing has been scheduled for 22 May.

Bullock, the star of Speed and Miss Congeniality, married James, the host of popular motoring show Monster Garage, in 2005.
