Del Boy's Reliant up for auction

The 1972 Reliant Regal van, which bears the sign Trotters Independent Trading Co, has been on display at the Cars of the Stars Museum in Keswick, Cumbria.

The vehicle, which was used in the classic episode where the duo dressed as Batman and Robin, is expected to fetch up to £20,000.

It will be auctioned on Tuesday at the Royal Horticultural Hall, London.

A total of three Reliants were used in the show, with the museum also housing the original three-wheeler.

A spokesman for auctioneers Coys said: "The vehicle on offer is the second of the cars built and is without doubt one of the most recognisable and universally-loved vehicles ever to grace the small screen.

"It has no doubt been witness to many of Del Boy and Rodders' most memorable scrapes.

"The van's witnessed everything from their traumatic drive to a fancy dress party as Batman and Robin to being the place where they celebrated their incredible fortune when they finally became millionaires.

"It's unlikely to have a MOT, though Boycie might be able to help you out on that score."
