Beyonce visits fans in hospital

Beyonce Pop star Beyonce has visited two fans in hospital after they were injured by pyrotechnics at one of her concerts.

The accident happened shortly after her show started in Missouri, US, on Sunday night when fireworks meant for the stage spilled into the audience.

Two unnamed concertgoers were taken to hospital, but their injuries were said to be minor.

Beyonce, 25, arrived shortly after her concert. "She was just very concerned," said head nurse Darryl Williams.

"It was unannounced and we kept it very low-key so that she could spend time with them."

Concern for fans

In a statement on her website, the Crazy in Love singer said the incident - footage of which has appeared on several video-sharing websites - was "very unfortunate".

"I visited the two fans who were injured in hospital right after the show and I am grateful that they will both be alright."

"My life and career have been blessed with the support of the best fans in the world. Their safety and well-being will always be a top priority and one of my biggest concerns."

Beyonce, whose full name is Beyonce Knowles, began her world tour in April in Tokyo and visited the UK last month.

She won a Grammy award in February for her second solo album, B'Day, and received a Golden Globe nomination for her role in the musical movie Dreamgirls.
