Rihanna's chart success continues

The 19-year-old held off a challenge from singer-songwriter Kate Nash who debuted at two with Foundations.

Also new to the top five was rock band The Enemy, who entered the charts at number four with Had Enough.

In the album charts the Editors stole the top spot from the White Stripes, with An End Has a Start, while Kelly Clarkson's My December debuted at two.

Icky Thump, Meg and Jack White's comeback album - recorded in only three weeks - fell from number one to four.

Let's Get The Party Started, the latest album from Dame Shirley Bassey - fresh from her celebrated performance at Glastonbury - joined the charts at six.

Back in the singles chart, Enrique Iglesias held steady at number three, with talent show winner Lee Mead rounding out the top five.

The Klaxons were one of the week's highest climbers with It's Not Over Yet surging 20 places to number 13, while indie stars the Arctic Monkeys edged into the chart at number 32 with Flourescent Adolescent.
