Tony Hadley to join Chicago cast

Tony Hadley Former Spandau Ballet singer Tony Hadley is joining the cast of the West End musical Chicago as the crooked lawyer Billy Flynn.

Hadley, 46, will take over from ex-Emmerdale actor Ian Kelsey for an eight-week run beginning on 29 January.

In 2003 Hadley won the ITV1 pop star comeback show Reborn In The USA.

More than four million people have seen Chicago since it opened in the West End in 1997. The show celebrated its ninth anniversary in November.

Aoife Mulholland, a finalist in the BBC talent show How Do You Solve A Problem Like Maria?, is currently starring as lead character Roxie Hart.

Spandau Ballet - one of the most popular groups of the 1980s - had a string of hits, including Gold and True, before the band split up in 1990. Hadley then embarked on a solo career.
