Jolie talks publicly about Pitt

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt Actress Angelina Jolie has admitted she fell for actor Brad Pitt while he was still married, but denies anything happened before his marriage ended.

Pitt and Friends star Jennifer Aniston announced they were divorcing in 2005 after four years of marriage.

Pitt, 42, and 31-year-old Jolie had been linked during the filming of the movie Mr and Mrs Smith.

Jolie told US Vogue that at that point they were just friends. "Brad was a huge surprise to me," she said.

However, the Tomb Raider star admits they did become close during filming together.

Change in circumstances

"We ended up being brought together to do all these crazy things, and I think we found this strange, friendship and partnership that kind of just suddenly happened," she said.

"It took until, really, the end of the shoot for us, I think, to realise that it might mean something more than we'd earlier allowed ourselves to believe."

Jolie says at the time of meeting Pitt she was "quite content to be a single mom", and it took the pair a "long time" for them to decide to start a relationship.

"Then life developed in a way where we could be together, where it felt like something we would do, we should do," she said.

Jolie, who had two adopted children from Cambodia and Ethiopia before getting involved with Pitt, gave birth to their child, Shiloh Nouvel, in Namibia in May.
