Borat brings mayhem to red carpet

Borat sheltered from the rain with a Union Jack umbrella
Borat Spoof Kazakh reporter Borat - aka Ali G comedian Sacha Baron Cohen - has attended the UK premiere of his film in London's Leicester Square.

Borat arrived on the red carpet in a cart, pulled by a mule, and 30 members of his "family" from Kazakhstan.

The film, Borat: Cultural Learnings for America, follows Borat as he learns about US culture.

The Kazakh government initially objected to the film, but have since invited Baron Cohen to the country.

The film features the hapless, naive and politically incorrect TV presenter travelling to the US, proudly blurting out his enthusiastic insults and humiliating unsuspecting Americans.

It is being shown as part of the London Film Festival after its debut at the Toronto Film Festival in September.

At the UK premiere in London's Leicester Square, Borat attempted to lead the rain-soaked crowd in a rendition of the "Kazakhstan national anthem".

He told them: "Good evening gentlemen and prostitutes.

"After this I stay in a hotel in Kings Cross, you must come and join me. We will all drink, wrestle with no clothes on and shoot dogs from the window."

Celebrities at the premiere included TV presenter Holly Willoughby, Trinny Woodall, Peaches Geldof and Desperate Housewives star Jesse Metcalfe.

The film - full title Borat: Cultural Learnings Of America For Make Benefit Glorious Nation Of Kazakhstan - opens across the UK on 2 November.
