Blues guitarist Etta Baker dies

US guitarist Etta Baker best known for playing the blues has died aged 93.

During her career she recorded with Taj Mahal and was awarded by the National Endowment for the Arts.

She died on Saturday in Fairfax, Virginia. No cause of death has been given but in the past heart problems had forced her to quit touring.

Baker raised nine children. Daughter Darlene Davis said: "She was a great mother and a tower of strength for the family. We always looked up to her."
