British band Keane have cancelled their North American tour to allow singer Tom Chaplin time to finish treatment for alcohol and drug addiction.
The group rescheduled some shows last month when Chaplin, 27, went into rehab, but all have now been cancelled.
Bandmate Tim Rice-Oxley said: "Obviously it's crucial that Tom is given the time to get better properly.
"His doctors feel there is undue pressure on Tom to rush through rehab and get back out on the road."
The songwriter and pianist apologised to fans but said the decision was taken "in the best interests of our friend - which, ultimately, is in the best interests of the band too".

But the trio are currently planning to go ahead with their tours of the UK and Europe in October and November, he added.
"We'll be keeping in close touch with Tom and his doctors about how he's progressing and we'll keep you posted."
Last month, Chaplin said: "I've been having to deal with an increasing problem with drink and drugs, and the time has come to get the professional help I need to sort myself out.
"I feel desperately disappointed to be letting down our fans, but I want to get myself right now so that I can be back on the road for the rest of the year."
