Stars come out for Prince's gig

The event, which was held at the Tower of London, was hosted by Prince Charles, his sons William and Harry and his wife the Duchess of Cornwall.

Pink, Sugababes and McFly also performed and Embrace played England's World Cup anthem, World At Your Feet.

The trust has helped more than 500,000 disadvantaged youngsters since 1976.

Bee Gee brothers Barry and Robin Gibb opened up the show with their hit Jive Talking.

They were followed by boy band McFly, who played a cover of Thin Lizzy's The Boys Are Back In Town to rapturous applause.

Around 2,000 attended the concert, while highlights were broadcast live on the ITV1 show presented by Ben Elton, Patrick Kielty, Vernon Kay and Kate Thornton.

Before the show began, the audience stood for the National Anthem which was sung by a gospel choir.

An interview with Princes William and Harry and Prince Charles by TV duo Ant and Dec is also being shown on ITV1 as part of the celebrations.

In it, Prince Charles says his sons keep him "in touch with what's going on".

And the young princes reveal they argue over possession of the television remote control.

Speaking ahead of the concert Martina Milburn, chief executive of the trust, highlighted the aims of the event.

She said: "More than one million young people are not in education, work or training.

"The Prince's Trust 30th Birthday aims to raise awareness and thousands of pounds to give hope to a lost generation who are currently dismissed by society."
