Spears anger at honeymoon photos

Britney Spears and husband Kevin Federline Singer Britney Spears has attacked a US magazine after it published photographs of her honeymoon without permission.

Weekly publication Us printed five pages of pictures of Spears and husband Kevin Federline on holiday in Fiji.

Spears said they chose a resort where "absolute privacy and seclusion" was promised, but claimed staff sold photos they took of the couple.

A statement from Us said: "Britney should start her own magazine if she'd like to dictate her own coverage."

'Souvenir'

"Unfortunately, staff members took photographs of us, which we allowed them to take once we were assured they were being taken only for private use in a scrap book they gave us as a souvenir," said Spears in a statement.

The 23-year-old pop star also claimed that other magazines contacted her when they were presented with the photographs for potential sale and publication.

"Kevin and I thank those other magazines for respecting our rights of privacy," she said.

Us magazine said it did not regret its decision to use the photographs, including a front page shot which had the headline "Britney's private album!"

"Coming from a celebrity who sold pictures of both her wedding and her stepdaughter, it's unlikely the issue here is privacy," said a statement from the magazine.

The pictures, which feature the couple on the beach and eating breakfast, were included in an edition of Us which went on sale on Friday.

Spears married Federline at a private ceremony in Los Angeles in September.

In January 2004, Spears married childhood friend Jason Alexander in Las Vegas, but the marriage was annulled 55 hours later.
