The Brits triumph in Hollywood
The British film industry may be the poor relation of Hollywood in terms of money but this year's Academy Awards have proven it is not short on talent. British actors and artists have won impressive range of Oscars - including best picture for Shakespeare in Love.

Brit film pips Ryan to Oscars glory
Shakespeare in Love took seven Oscars at the Academy Awards along with best actress, best screenplay, best supporting actress, costume, score and art direction. World War II epic Saving Private Ryan came second in the award tally with five statuettes.

British director John Madden is celebrating Shakespeare in Love winning the award for best picture. Before the awards he told the BBC about the film he thought of as his "dream project".
