Spy films vie for Bafta film prize
Spy films and sci-fi epics are set to do battle for the accolade of cinemagoers' favourite in this year's Baftas.
Nominated Films
Monsters Inc
Star Wars - Episode II: Attack of the Clones
Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets
Spider-Man
Ocean's 11
Goldmember
Men in Black II
Scooby Doo
Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers
Die Another Day
Ten films line up for the title including James Bond's Die Another Day and spoof spy film Goldmember, from the Austin Powers stable.
They are all on the shortlist announced on Thursday for the Orange Film Of The Year.
The award will be handed over at the British Academy Film Awards next month.
Among the other films vying for the prize will be blockbusters The Two Towers, Harry
Potter And The Chamber Of Secrets and Spider-Man.
The shortlist of 10 movies is made up of top box office draws.
Reschedule
Movie buffs will be able to choose their top movie for the award on 23 February at the UK equivalent of the Oscars.
The already-scheduled Bafta film awards for 2004 have had to be hastily re-arranged, after the Oscars was moved to an earlier time.
The UK film awards shifted forward to 8 February 2004, ahead of the Oscars, rescheduled for the end of the month.
The team behind the British ceremony was worried their event would get swamped by coverage of the US show.
