Oasis score mini-festival hit

Rock group Oasis have delighted thousands of their fans at their biggest UK gigs for two years.

The group played to more than 80,000 people on Friday and Saturday at London's Finsbury Park.

A third concert on Sunday night will coincide with the group's return to the top of the album charts, following the release of Heathen Chemistry.

Friday night's weather may have been awful - wet, windy and cold - but the group's followers packed the outdoor north London venue.

They came to hear music from the long-awaited Heathen Chemistry - the group's fifth studio album - as well as classic Oasis tracks.

Saturday night's event was played in better conditions as the sun ventured to shine.

At both concerts, brothers Noel and Liam Gallagher seemed to be in top form as they performed a series of past and present hits.

They included Live Forever, Don't Look Back In Anger and their new single Stop Crying Your Heart Out.

Other songs from Heathen Chemistry included The Hindu Times.

Every track received rapturous applause from the crowd.

The brothers also took time to share a joke with the audience, as Liam Gallagher told them: "It sounds like bingo out there."

Oasis turned down the Glastonbury Festival so they could play these gigs, which also featured The Charlatans and new bands Black Rebel Motorcycle Club and The Coral.

They are due to headline the T in the Park festival in Scotland before playing more European dates and moving on to the United States and Japan.
