She will join matrons of honour Elizabeth Taylor and Marisa Berenson, a socialite who appeared in Cabaret, as well as Mia Farrow, singer Chaka Khan, Petula Clark and Italian actresses Gina Lollobrigida and Claudia Cardinale, reports the New York Post.
Superstar Michael Jackson will give away Minnelli, and will also be best man, along with his brother Tito, the report adds.
Their other brothers Jackie, Randy and Marlon will be among the 15 "groomsmen" at the 16 March nuptials.
Lined up
Guests who are said to have been lined up to perform at the reception will include Whitney Houston and Tony Bennett.
Houston will reportedly sing Here Comes The Bride at the ceremony.
In total 55 artists have been lined up to provide the music, including Robert Goulet, Little Anthony and the Imperials and the Doobie Brothers.
"If every star or group does only one song, this show will last for days," the paper's columnist Liz Smith writes.
"The honeymooners can go away and come back. People will still be singing," she added.
Gifts
The 55-year-old star's fourth wedding, to producer Gest, 46, will take place in New York, with a party on Wall Street following a ceremony in the city's Marble Collegiate Church.
The New York Post has published a list of items it says the couple hope to receive as gifts.
It ranges from 16 butter knives at £45 each to four £2,800 soup tureens.
The wedding lists, says the paper, have been placed at the city's famous jewellery story, Tiffany, and top stores Lalique and Bergdorf Goodman.
