Kylie on for chart double

Victoria Beckham and Kylie Minogue
Posh looks like losing out to Kylie again
Kylie Minogue looks set to triumph in the battle with Victoria Beckham for the number one album as her latest release outsells her rival's by six to one.

Minogue's album, Fever, has shifted more than 27,000 copies in its first few days while the eponymously-titled Victoria Beckham has sold just 5,000.

Minogue beat Beckham to the top of the singles chart two weeks ago, after Can't Get You Out of My Head scored a convincing win over Posh Spice's Not Such an Innocent Girl.

Midweek sales figures show Minogue looks likely to secure both the number one album and single this weekend, as her single also continues to outsell other artists.

Beckham's album is currently the sixth biggest seller of the week, behind Elton John's Songs from the West Coast and new releases from former Stone Roses frontman Ian Brown and Garbage.

Her single entered at number six in its first week of release.

Bob the Builder
Dido's No Angel, which was released a year ago, has also sold more copies than Beckham's first solo effort.

But Bob the Builder's album has had a disappointing opening few days with current sales putting the animated hero at number 11, despite two number one singles.

Chart expert Gennaro Castaldo of HMV said: "It looks like we're in the grip of Kylie-mania.

"The success of the single has been a great catalyst for the album. It will probably be one of the big sellers over the Christmas period."
