Deal signed for Britney video games
Britney video games could be available in the spring
A deal for new video games featuring singer Britney Spears have been signed with the first games out in the spring.
Video game publishers THQ has signed the deal with the singer's licensing company Britney Brands.
In a similar move, video game publishers Electronic Arts have re-signed deals with golfer Tiger Woods.
The THQ deal will give the comapany sole rights to Britney-branded games until 2005.
They will be available for PC, the Sony PlayStation 2 and Nintendo Game Boy Advance, a spokesman for THQ said.
Golfer Tiger Woods has had a deal with EA since 1998 when the first golf game was produced with his name on.
The new deal extends that contract for a further five years.
Technology
The champion golfer provides his voice to EA's golf fames, for PC and video game use.
The first game, under the deal with Spear's compnay is expected to be out in spring next year, THQ said.
Britney Spears became the first artist to use new "immersive" technology on DVD, which lets fans watch footage of her concerts from any angle.
The technology permits users to pan around the stage and even go behind the scenes on their computer game console controller.
The so-called 3-D DVDs will work on a range of consoles, and also include Britney games.
There are already numerous Britney tie-ins including Britney dolls.
Books
She became the latest in a long line of stars to sign up for a sponsorship deal with Pepsi earlier this year.
She has also written two books, her autobiography at the age of 18 and another, written with her mother.
This month the star appeared with Michael Jackson at his gala anniversary concert in New York.
