Two Los Angeles-based companies formed by the band brought the lawsuit in 1998 claiming the non-profit foundation infringed on its name and image on the American Eagle record label.

The Eagles also objected to the foundation's internet address - www.eagles.org - and its telephone number 1-800-2-EAGLES.
"It is good to have it over. We knew we were in the right," said Al Cecere, president of the American Eagle Foundation, formerly the National Foundation to Protect America's Eagles.
The Eagles formed in 1972, four years before their signature hit Hotel California became a US number one.
The original line-up was Glenn Frey, Don Henley, Bernie Leadon and Randy Meisner.
Their hit singles included Tequila Sunrise, Lyin' Eyes, Peaceful Easy Feeling and Best of My Love.
Their 1971-75 Greatest Hits album is the best-selling title in the history of the American record industry, with 27 million copies sold.
The group disbanded in 1980, with leading members Glenn Frey and Don Henley embarking on competing solo careers before reforming for a lucrative comeback tour in 1994.
Eagles have regrouped - this time to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the band's formation - and are currently on a Europe wide tour.
