Destiny's Child in at number one

Destiny's Child, winners of the 2000 MTV best R'n'B award, have had hit singles with Bills, Bills, Bills, Jumpin Jumpin, Say My Name and former number one Independent Women.

The group have managed to squeeze in sales of 10 million albums around the world and a double Grammy Award triumph this year as well as playing live at the Brit awards.

Destiny's Child managed to pip ex-Boyzone singer Ronan Keating's new single Lovin' Each Day to the top slot.

Numbers three and four were also new entries to the chart - Liquid Dreams by O-Town and Missy Elliott's Get Ur Freak On.

Gabrielle's Out of Reach, which can be heard on the new Bridget Jones's Diary film, has dropped to number six from last week's number four.

But the real disappointment must be for Madonna whose latest single from the album Music - What It Feels Like For a Girl - made a disappointing show at number seven.

Knocked out of the Number One slot - where it had been for two weeks - was Emma Bunton's What Took You So Long.

This was the former Spice Girl's first solo single which has now slipped down to number eight.

Destiny's Child have also been voted the favourite group of America's children.

The band won the title in a poll organised by children's television channel Nickelodeon and shown in California on Saturday.
