Sir Elton court action ends

Sir Elton John
Sir Elton John's long-running High Court action over his overseas touring costs has come to an end.

But the singer will have to wait to find out whether or not he has won.

Mr Justice Ferris reserved his decision at the end of the hearing. It is expected he will not announce his ruling for several weeks.

The hearing lasted 43 days over three months in London.

Sir Elton, 53, is suing Andrew Haydon, 45, the former managing director of his former management company John Reid Enterprises (JREL), and accountants PricewaterhouseCoopers, which looked after his business interests.

'Several millions'

He alleges Mr Haydon was negligent in allowing JREL to charge him overseas tour expenses, including booking agents, accountants and producers.

Sir Elton says the "several millions" which he paid out to cover these expenses should have been borne by JREL under a management agreement.

PricewaterhouseCoopers is accused by the singer of negligence in managing his affairs.

The singer has already accepted $5m (£3.4m) from his former partner and manager, John Reid, in settlement of his claims against him.
