
(Open): France's main stock market climbed at the start of Friday's trading, ahead of major US jobs data.
Investors hope the latest monthly jobs figures will provide fresh clues on the direction of the world's biggest economy.
The Cac 40 index was up 23 points, or 0.6%, to 4,047.78 in early trade.
Telecoms firm Alcatel-Lucent was the biggest riser, up 1.4%, while Dexia and EDF also saw gains of more than 1%. Early losers included Vivendi and LVMH.
