World market roller coaster
Around the world, stock markets have plunged in recent weeks.
However, most markets are still well above their level achieved half a year ago, and only a few indices are truly in the doldrums.
London's FTSE 100 and Wall Street's Dow Jones moved in perfect tandem...
... while the Nasdaq was the role model for London's own technology index, the Techmark, and other European bourses.
With plenty of hip technology stocks present in the key indices of Paris and Frankfurt, both markets managed to climb to lofty heights...
... while their 'old economy' shares spared them the worst of the decline.
