The company launched in November after being dogged by technological delays.
It sells branded sports and fashion goods in 18 countries. Its site is one of the most technologically ambitious of online retailers.
It moved to cut staff numbers at its London and overseas offices after deciding to incorporate its online magazine boomagazine into its main website.
Seasonal call centre staff numbers in London and overseas are also being cut back because the group has found most customers correspond with it via e-mail.
Personal shopper
A spokeswoman did not say how many jobs were to go but confirmed "a handful" of redundancies had been issued.
Following its early hitches, analysts thought Boo was being too ambitious.
It still suffers from the fact that its site, which includes a computer generated personal shopper for visitors, is too technologically advanced for many computers to download. In March it will be launching a less complex site.
Globally, Boo employs about 400 staff and is reported to be backed by £125m of funding from the likes of Bernard Arnault of LMVH, the Benetton family and Goldman Sachs.
