George Derbyshire has been chief executive of the NFEA since May, 2002.

He took up the role following a banking career during which he worked in a variety of roles from traditional branch manager to policy and marketing.

While at the Royal Bank of Scotland he was director of a team which looked after the charity, education, public sector and other not-for-profit customers.

He also chaired the bank's charity forum.

He is married with two grown up children and lives in a north Bedfordshire village.

He enjoys keeping fit and attending concerts, and is a member of the Development Board of Community Service Volunteers, director of the Institute for Small Business and Entrepreneurship, and chairman of training company Incredit.
