At least eight people are reported to have been killed on the west coast of South Korea after they were swept away by high waves.
Twelve others were rescued after storms and high winds hit a coastal area near Daecheon, about 190km (120 miles) south of Seoul.
They were taken to hospital, where five are in a critical condition, a coast guard official told Reuters.
He said most of the victims were tourists or people fishing.
Lee Won-il said the waves were as high as 5 meters (16 feet) and that two young children were among the dead.
