Burma PM home after hospital stay

Soe Win, who is reported to have leukaemia, was taken to a military hospital in Rangoon on his return.

Burmese authorities say he is in good health after two months of treatment.

The leader of Burma's military government, Than Shwe, was treated for an undisclosed condition at the same Singapore hospital earlier this year.

'Serious health matter'

Soe Win, an army general aged in his late 50s, travelled to the city-state in late February on what Singapore's foreign ministry called a "private visit".

But Burma's embassy in Singapore later said he was being treated for a "serious health matter".

Soe Win has been prime minister since 2004, when he replaced ousted former prime minister Khin Nyunt.

It was not clear whether he would be able to resume official duties on his return.
