Gunmen kill oilman in Aceh

The Exxon oil company in Indonesia says gunmen have killed one of its contract workers - and wounded a number of others.

The workers were travelling to a gas field in the troubled northern province of Aceh.

An Exxon spokeswoman Julia Tumengkol said a convoy transporting them was fired on near the south Lhoksukon pipeline.

The Indonesian military have blamed separatists rebels of the Free Aceh movement.

Exxon temporarily closed its operations in Aceh earlier this year, following a series of rebel attacks, which included arson and kidnapping.
