Suspected political spies arrested in Mexico

The federal attorney-general's office in Mexico says two men have been arrested on suspicion of espionage, after sophisticated bugging equipment was found in their homes.

The discovery came during a raid by federal agents on six premises in the northern city of Monterrey.

Correspondents say the arrests have provoked renewed concern about political spying in the country.

Earlier this month, two opposition politicians in Mexico City said they had found tiny surveillance cameras and microphones in their offices.
