Large multi-nationals still interested in East Asia

A survey of 500 multi-national companies has found that the large majority are prepared to invest more to maintain their involvement in East Asia in spite of the region's financial crisis.

But a spokesman for the International Chamber of Commerce, which was involved in the survey, said that investors are becoming more choosy about where they do business in the area.

He said they are being attracted to those East Asian countries whose financial systems are more transparent and accountable.
