SENATE
Democratic gains from Republicans (6):

Virginia: Jim Webb beat George Allen.

Missouri: Claire McCaskill defeated Jim Talent.

Ohio: Sherrod Brown beat Mike DeWine.

Pennsylvania: Bob Casey took the seat from Rick Santorum.

Rhode Island: Sheldon Whitehouse beat Lincoln Chafee.

Montana: Jon Tester beat Conrad Burns.

HOUSE
Democratic gains from Republicans (28):

Arizona: Harry Mitchell took the seat from incumbent J.D. Hayworth. Gabrielle Giffords beat Randy Graf to take an open seat.

California: Jerry McNerney beat incumbent Richard Pombo.

Colorado: Ed Perlmutter took a vacant seat from Rick O'Donnell.

Connecticut: Chris Murphy defeated incumbent Nancy Johnson.

Florida: Ron Klein defeated incumbent Clay Shaw. Tim Mahoney beat Joe Negron for the seat vacated by Mark Foley's resignation.

Indiana: Joe Donnelly, Brad Ellsworth and Baron Hill beat Chris Chocola, John Hostettler and Mike Sodrel respectively.

Iowa: Dave Loebsack took incumbent Jim Leach's seat. Bruce Braley beat Mike Whalen to take a vacant seat.

Kansas: Nancy Boyda beat Jim Ryun.

Kentucky: John Yarmuth won Anne Northup's seat.

Minnesota: Tim Walz defeated Gil Gutknecht.

New Hampshire: Carol Shea-Porter and Paul Hodes took seats from Jeb Bradley and Charles Bass.

New York: John Hall and Kirsten Gillibrand beat Sue Kelly and John Sweeney. Michael Arcuri took Raymond Meier's seat.

North Carolina: Heath Shuler won Charles Taylor's seat.

Ohio: Zack Space beat Joy Padgett to win a seat vacated by disgraced Republican congressman Bob Ney.

Pennsylvania: Jason Altmire, Joe Sestak, Patrick Murphy and Christopher Carney took seats from Melissa Hart, Curt Weldon, Michael Fitzpatrick and Don Sherwood respectively.

Texas: Nick Lampson won the seat vacated by former House Majority leader Tom DeLay.

Wisconsin: Steven Kagen won a vacant seat against John Gard.

GOVERNORSHIPS
Democratic gains from Republicans (6):

Arkansas: Mike Beebe defeated Asa Hutchinson to win a vacant seat.

Colorado: Bill Ritter beat Bob Beauprez to win a vacant seat.

Maryland: Martin O'Malley took incumbent Robert Ehrlich's seat.

Massachusetts: Deval Patrick won a vacant seat against Kerry Healey.

New York: Eliot Spitzer took a vacant seat against John Faso.

Ohio: Ted Strickland beat J. Kenneth Blackwell for a vacant seat.
