Counting the cost of Georges

• FLORIDA: No deaths or injuries reported despite extensive damage to buildings and trees. Miami and the Keys hit by power cuts.

• CUBA: At least three people dead, about 200,000 people evacuated and nearly 20,000 homes flooded. Crops were damaged. Mainly affected are the eastern and central provinces, such as Holguin and Guantanamo.

• HAITI: At least 87 people died with flooding in the capital, Port-au-Prince, around Cap-Haitien on the north coast and in other areas. Dozens of buildings have been damaged.
  
  
  

• DOMINICAN REPUBLIC: Over 200 people dead and about 100,000 left homeless. About 90% of banana and other plantations have been destroyed. Power grid damage is estimated at $111m. Heavy flooding in the capital, Santo Domingo, and elsewhere.

• PUERTO RICO: At least 21 people killed and 28,000 people have left in shelters after hundreds of buildings were destroyed. Around 80% of the population has been left without water. Total cost of damages is estimated at $2bn.

• US VIRGIN ISLANDS: Several people injured amid widespread damages to buildings and crops.

• BRITISH VIRGIN ISLANDS: Roads closed by flooding and there were temporary power outages.

• ANGUILLA: Minor damage reported along with temporary power outages.

• ST KITTS-NEVIS: At least three people dead and two missing - about 3,000 people have been left homeless as 85% of buildings have been damaged. The total cost of the damage is estimated at $402m.

• ANTIGUA AND BARBUDA: Two people dead. Hundreds of buildings have been damaged. Towns along the south coast have been flooded. Power cut all over the island.

• GUADELOUPE: Some flooding in northern towns and moderate damage to buildings - no deaths reported.
