The hunt is intensifying in Washington for a missing young graduate with ties to a US congressman.
Chandra Levy, 24, disappeared in Washington six weeks ago, shortly after finishing work experience with the federal Bureau of Prisons in Washington.
Her parents and their lawyer have now appealed for the congressman, Democrat Gary Condit of California, to come forward with any information he may have.
Ms Levy, a graduate of the University of Southern California, was last seen on 30 April. She was preparing to move back home to California after her work experience ended.
When police searched her flat, they found her fully packed luggage, credit cards, driving license, and mobile phone.
There were no signs of struggle. The only thing missing, her keys.
'Great friend'
Normally, she would just become another statistic, one of the thousands of people who go missing in America every year.
But for her ties to her local congressman.
In a statement, Mr Condit has described her as a great person and a great friend, but relatives of the girl have hinted it was more than just friendship and point to mobile phone records showing she called the congressman about 20 times.
So far, the congressman has refused to say anything in public.
Police have said he is not a suspect in her disappearance.
But they said that they would like to know more about his relationship with her, and what one officer described as any insights he might have into her mindset.
