In pictures: Ivory Coast uprising
Thousands of supporters of Socialist election candidate Laurent Gbagbo have been demonstrating in the Ivory Coast city of Abidjan since military ruler General Robert Guei tried to declare his own victory in the elections.
Despite being fired on by troops loyal to Guei, the protesters took over key buildings and forced his departure.
