Angolan plane disaster 'kills 11'

There were no survivors from the crash, which happened just before 0800 local time (0700 GMT).

The privately-owned twin-engine Beechcraft-200 aircraft was flying from the capital Luanda to the second city, Huambo, 450 km (280 miles) south-east.

Initial reports suggest bad weather may be the cause. Two Portuguese nationals were said to be among the dead.

Angola has a poor record in air safety, mainly because of inadequate maintenance of its aircraft.

Its national carrier TAAG is banned from flying to the European Union because of safety concerns.
