S Africa police helicopter crash

map A helicopter with 14 South African police officers on board has crashed near the border with Lesotho, killing at least one officer.

One report says eight other people were badly hurt and seven more sustained minor injuries.

The helicopter was also carrying three crew and two air force officers.

The Oryx helicopter came down near the town of Wepener, in the southern part of Free State province, as it patrolled the Lesotho border.
