New start for Kenya

Huge crowds gather to see leader Mwai Kibaki inaugurated as president. Supporters of his National Rainbow Coalition party packed into the historic Uhuru Park, alongside visiting heads of state and outgoing president Daniel arap Moi.

President-elect Mwai Kibaki vows sweeping changes to the way Kenya is run. The National Rainbow Coalition leader pledges to battle corruption in his first public statement since being officially declared the winner.
