Kenya Somalia flights suspended

Flights between Kenya and the Somali port of Kismayu have been suspended after Somali gunmen destroyed a small aircraft making a delivery of the mild narcotic, khat.

Nobody was hurt, though the pilot fled the plane after warning shots were fired through the windshield.

Correspondents say the incident was caused by a dispute over the supply of khat a popular drug in Somalia but which is grown in neighboring Kenya and flown in daily.
