Indy whips up UK box office chart

Indiana Jones

The new Indiana Jones film has romped to the top of the UK and Ireland box office chart after taking a huge £12.2m in three days.

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull trounced the competition, with nearest rival What Happens in Vegas taking just £921,516.

Robert Downey Junior's comic book movie Iron Man fell two places after spending three weeks at number one.

Forgetting Sarah Marshall and Nim's Island took the fourth and fifth spots.

Patrick Dempsey's romantic comedy Made of Honor dropped a place to seven, as did British horror Doomsday at eight.

Caramel, a Lebanese drama about the lives of five women living in Beirut, remained at nine.

And Colin Farrell's black comedy In Bruges completed the top 10.
