Man arrested over body discovery

A man has been arrested over the death of a woman whose body was found at a house in Greater Manchester.

The woman was found at the property on Anderton Way, New Springs, in Wigan on Sunday afternoon.

Although initial post-mortem tests have suggested the 47-year-old may have died of natural causes, officers say she was previously the victim of an assault.

A 28-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of assault and remains in police custody for questioning.
