Charity cash helps Aids orphans

A rotary club has raised more than £1,000 to help the children of Aids victims at a orphanage in South Africa.

A meal and raffle hosted by Swindon Rendezvous at Theatre Square in the town raised £1,310 for the facility in Swellendam.

The town's Rotarians have raised more than £6,000 for the children.

It is hoped the cash raised will help provide a freezer, a cooker, a microwave oven and several prams for the youngsters.
