Woman, 66, killed in house fire

An investigation is under way into the cause of a house fire in a Lincolnshire village in which a 66-year-old woman was killed.

Firefighters from Spalding, Long Sutton and Kirton were called to Roman Bank in Saracens Head near Holbeach just after 2000 BST on Saturday.

The two-storey property was found to be well alight when they arrived.

Neighbouring properties had to be temporarily evacuated while the crews contained the fire.
