Bo Johansson - Denmark manager

Bo Johansson is an oddity - a Swede coaching the Danish national team. Traditionally, the countries are fierce rivals but Johannson has bridged the divide with ease, winning over both the Danish players and their fans.

He proved his commitment to Denmark from the start, steering them to victory in Sweden in his first match in charge.

His record since taking over after Euro 96 has been impressive. Denmark topped their qualifying group, losing just one match.

Johansson, who led the small Danish club Silkeborg to their first league title in his previous coaching job, has brought a breath of fresh air to the Danish squad since replacing Richard Moller Nielsen. Importantly, he has taught the players to enjoy themselves and the improved team spirit has been reflected in their results. His system of zonal marking has also been successful.
