The return of Vincenzo Scifo boosted Belgium
Romanian stars Gheorge Hagi, Dan Petrescu and Gheorge Popescu all figured in a 1-1 draw with Belgium. But Belgian fans were cheered by the return of Enzo Scifo.

The influential 32-year-old shook hands and made up with coach Georges Leekens. He had said he would not play again for Belgium after being dropped in March.

Coventry forward Viorel Moldovan gave Romania the lead in the 44th minute, neatly controlling Hagi's left-wing cross and firing home.

But the goal failed to spark the game into life and the second half was spoiled by regular stops in play, including eight substitutions.

Anton Dobos was sent off for a second bookable offence in the 53rd minute which took the sting out of the more adventurous Romanians.

Luc Nils scores the equaliser
Belgium took advantage of the extra man and equalised in the 77th minute. Captain Franky Van der Elst's long through-ball set up Luc Nils.

The Red Devils then went for the kill but failed to take their chances against Romania's tiring 10 men.
